The sun, the moon, and the stars speak to you in the voiceless language of cycles. The natural flow of the seasons tugs at your blood as the tide acts upon the oceans, pushing and pulling with gentle insistence regardless of the storm’s fury, the dragon’s flight, or the antics of otherworldly primordials. Just as the constellations move around the sky in a steady, imperturbable cadence, your spells are strong and unshakable, and tied to energies that can outlast all others.

Cosmic Bloodline

Starting when you choose this origin at 1st level, you show traces of your bizarre bloodline. Whenever you are conscious, you are in the phase of the sun, the moon, or the stars.

While you are in the phase of the sun, you glow, emitting bright light out to 10 feet and dim light out to 20 feet, and have resistance to fire damage.

While you are in the phase of the moon, color drains out of your skin, hair, eyes, and clothes, leaving you entirely white, and you have resistance to cold damage.

While you are in the phase of the stars, small points of light form and swirl around you, and you have resistance to psychic damage.

You determine what phase you are in whenever you wake up from unconsciousness or trance by rolling a d4. On a result of a 1, you are in the phase of the sun. On a result of 2, you are in the phase of the moon. On a result of a 3, you are in the phase of the stars. On a result of a 4, you may choose what phase you are in.

Cosmic Casting

Also starting at 1st level, the phase you are in affects your spell casting.

While you are in the phase of the sun, halve the amount of sorcery points it takes to create a spell slot (rounded up) and the amount of sorcery points you gain from converting spells to sorcery points (also rounded up).

While you are in the phase of the moon, you may apply two Metamagic effects to any spell you cast rather than one.

While you are in the phase of the stars, you may add one Metamagic effect other than Heightened Spell, Quickened Spell, or Twinned Spell to every spell you cast that is of a lower level than your sorcerer level/3 without expending sorcery points.

Astrology

Starting at 6th level, you gain some control over your phase. You may reroll a d4 to change your phase during a short rest.
Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you use this feature again.

Cosmic Body

Starting at 14th level, your phase starts to affect your body even at rest.

While you are in the phase of the sun, when you spend hit dice, you may take the maximum result instead of rolling to determine how may hit points you regain.

While you are in the phase of the moon, you are constantly affected by the Water Walk ability. While you are standing on a patch of water with this ability, you have resistance to all damage.

While you are in the Phase of the Stars, you may cast Mirror Image on yourself once until you finish a short or long rest which then you may cast it gain.

Cosmic Union

Starting at 18th level, you are constantly in two phases instead of one. Instead of rolling one d4 at the end of each period of unconsciousness or trance to determine your phase, you roll two. If both result in the same number, you may choose what other phase you are in.
